From day one of building Pando Refitters, it was important to us that, whatever we do, we make a tangible impact in the local community.
Making it easier for you to buy used and buy less is a great goal, but it doesn’t do anything to address our pressing local needs here in the American west, like saving a drying Great Salt Lake, or preventing mining in our treasured canyons.
To do our part, we’ll be partnering with local conservation non-profits to provide donations and exposure for their efforts.
Today we're excited to announce our first non-profit partner, Conserve Utah Valley.
In just two years since their founding, Conserve Utah Valley has made tremendous impact in Northern Utah —
- They spearheaded efforts to preserve a Provo landmark, Bridal Veil Falls, when it was threatened by private development.
- They’ve brought attention and much needed maintenance to some of our local gems like Slate Canyon and the Bonneville Shoreline Trail.
- Most recently, they’ve been instrumental in preventing efforts to dredge Utah Lake and fill it in with artificial islands that would permanently mar this diverse ecosystem.
We’re proud to be working with them for our first season. In addition to highlighting their efforts in our social media and in store, we’ll be donating $1 from every purchase you make to their efforts.
We hope you’ll join us and Conserve Utah Valley in working to preserve Northern Utah's wild spaces.
